Examples of Shot Types (my own images)

Long Shot

The object takes up the entire frame. We get a view of the whole character.

Medium Shot

Shot form a medium distance shoeing more body language and less detail while giving an impression of the whole person.

Medium Close Up

Halfway between medium shot and a close up. More detail of the body language and emotions of the face.

Close Up

This shot tightly frames the person to show very detailed emotions on a face.

Extreme Close Up

Zoomed into a person to show a details of a specific area, mainly the eyes or somebody's hands.

Very wide shot/establishing shot

The person is only just visible. This shot places emphasis on setting the scene and placing the person/character in an environment.
